2021 Ford Expedition: What’s New

Second, the XLT trim gets a new optional suite of advanced safety features in the form of the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist package. This adds some welcome safety and driver-assistance features to the table.
Engine Options
The base Expedition gives you a turbocharged V6 that delivers 375 horsepower with 470 lb-ft of torque at most trims but bumps up to 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft with the Platinum Series.
It’s driven by a 10-speed automatic transmission and comes with rear-wheel drive with four-wheel drive available as an option.
Configurations
The new Expedition is a full-size body-on-frame SUV that seats up to eight passengers. On every trim except for the base, you can opt for an extended Expedition MAX configuration which kicks up your maximum cargo space from 20.9 cubic feet behind the back row to 36 cubic feet, with a maximum overall cargo space of 121.5 cubic feet.
The Expedition can also tow a massive 9,300 pounds, so you can bring everything with you.
Trim Levels and Technology
The Ford Expedition comes in one of five trim levels: the new Base XL STX, the mid-range XLT, the feature-packed Limited, the luxurious King Ranch, and the range-topping Platinum. The base level gives you an integrated Wi-Fi hot spot and a basic infotainment system with a 4.2-inch screen as well as keyless entry and ignition.
