Sporty and Efficient Compact SUV
Ford Escape Cargo Space
The Ford Escape provides plenty of room for shopping bags, backpacks, sports equipment, luggage, or other items. Behind the last row, there’s 37.5 cubic feet of cargo room at your disposal. Fold the rear seats down and that space expands to 65.4 cubic feet.
Plus, with the 60/40 split rear seatbacks, you can fold down one side and still have room for a rear passenger while getting all your needed cargo inside the SUV.
It’s easy to load items in using the available hands-free foot-activated liftgate. There’s no need to reach in your pocket or your bag for the keys. Hands full of groceries? As long as the Intelligent Access key is in your pocket or purse, all you need to do is kick your foot underneath the bumper and the liftgate will open up. You can also adjust the liftgate height, which is helpful if you park in a narrow or low garage.
Ford Escape Interior
The Ford Escape interior offers a variety of amenities to help keep up to five passengers comfortable and entertained. The Escape comes standard with cloth seats but has available leather-trimmed seating. For chillier nights, there are available heated seats as well as an optional heated steering wheel to soothe your hands after a long day at work.
This vehicle also offers an advanced SYNC® 3 infotainment system with a touchscreen and voice-activated technology. Use either to access the navigation system or SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio.
The recent Escape redesign has given the interior a fresh look and new feel. The second-row 60/40 split-fold seats now feature sliding functionality, making it easy to load in cargo or pack in the passengers if you’re carrying a crowd.
Want to enjoy the fresh air as you’re traveling? The available panoramic Vista Roof® comes with a large panel that opens up to allow those sitting in the back to take in the sights and sounds.
Ford Escape Specs
The Ford Escape has sporty handling with its four engine options:
- 1.5L EcoBoost® with Auto Start-Stop Technology
- 2.0L EcoBoost®
- Hybrid 2.5L iVCT I-4 engine
- Plug-in Hybrid 2.5L iVCT I-4 engine
The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Auto Start-Stop Technology, a system that lowers fuel consumption by turning the engine off when you come to a stop. The 2.0L engine carries a SelectShift® transmission, which offers the convenience of an automatic with the sporty feel of a manual.
Available All-Wheel Drive Disconnect contributes to fuel-efficient driving too. This feature disables the rear driveline when you don’t need all-wheel drive capabilities. That way, only the front wheels are moving the Escape, which reduces the drag and the needs of the drivetrain.
Ford Escape Towing
You shouldn’t have to leave your favorite toys at home. The Ford Escape is ready for anything, and it proves that with its towing capability. The Escape Titanium with its 2.0L EcoBoost® engine can tow up to 3,500 pounds. If you have a midsize trailer or some ATVs to bring along for the ride, you’ll want to have this engine equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package.
The entry-level 1.5L engine, when properly equipped, tows up to 2,000 pounds. The Hybrid Escape models are ready to tow, too, with their 1,500-pound towing capacities.
Escape Selectable Drive Modes
Enjoy the driving experience regardless of where it’s taking you next. With the Selectable Drive Modes found in the Escape, you’ll be prepared for anything.
With Normal Mode, take on the daily drives with the right balance of excitement and comfort. Want to save fuel on your drives? Be an efficient and responsible driver with Eco Mode, which maximizes fuel economy numbers.
Sport Mode heightens the driving experience. A sportier steering feel as well as quicker shifts bolster your every drive. The suspension stiffens, too, with a focus on handling and control. Drivers will love having Slippery Mode for when the roads get wet. Counter the rainy drives with a drive mode that can handle slippery roads.
Ford Escape Trim Levels
Once you’ve taken the Escape for a test drive, you might be ready to take the wheel and get on the road in your next car. Well, you’ll first need to decide which trim level is the right one for your needs. With five different trims to choose from, there’s no shortage of options.
Here’s a closer look at those trim levels and some of the key features found with every Escape:
Ford Escape S
This base model is safe and smart, coming standard with Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology and FordPass Connect™. Thanks to the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, and the Lane-Keeping System, you’re exceptionally prepared for every drive. These safety features work to protect you as the wheels are in motion.
Use the 60/40 split-fold rear seat to your advantage too. With slide and recline functionality, everyone will be comfortable on each trip. Beyond the comfort of passengers, this seat can also be folded to accommodate more cargo, whether it’s groceries, luggage, or perhaps that new television you’re bringing home.
Ford Escape SE
Next up, the SE utilizes the SYNC® 3 infotainment system to keep you connected on the go. It also keeps you comfortable with its 10-way power driver’s seat with heated seats available in the front. Even though Florida winters may not feel like the ones in the Midwest, it can still get chilly. You’ll enjoy having these seats when the temperature dips.
The SYNC® 3 touchscreen is an 8-inch LCD screen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. As this screen is a bit larger than the standard 7-inch offering, it makes interaction much easier.
Ford Escape SE Sport Hybrid
With a hybrid powertrain and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, you’ll be confident behind the wheel of this efficient ride. Take things from the city to the middle of nowhere in a matter of moments, and you’ll see what hybrid power is all about.
Grip the standard leather-wrapped steering wheel to take on the roads in style too. This steering wheel is easier to grip and it also doesn’t hurt that it looks good.
Ford Escape SEL
The SEL focuses on convenience, coming standard with the hands-free foot-activated liftgate and the Reverse Sensing System. With the hands-free liftgate, all you need to do is wave your foot in front of the rear bumper as you’re walking up to the Escape. If you’re carrying a heavy load with numerous items in your hands, there’s no need to put them down on the ground. The liftgate opens up, and voila—you’re able to load everything in with ease.
The available panoramic Vista Roof® goes beyond a traditional moonroof. Instead of only opening up to those in the front, this roof covers both rows. Those seated in the back will able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine on every drive.
Ford Escape Titanium
