Ford Ranger Towing Capacity

2019 Ford Ranger Lariat Putting Boat in WaterThe Ford Ranger towing capacity is 7,500 pounds when properly equipped. To achieve this kind of capability, you’ll want to equip your truck with the Trailer Tow Package, which comes with a 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness and Class IV trailer hitch receiver.

Without this equipment, the Ford Ranger can tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds. To help you stay safe while you tow, this pickup gives you some smart features, such as Trailer Sway Control, that can help keep you steady. BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage also helps you change lanes and merge more safely.

The SuperCrew configuration also seats five but gives rear-seat passengers approximately four inches of additional legroom. This configuration has a passenger volume of 97.6 cubic feet.

Regardless of your cab style, you’ll find the SYNC® Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment System inside the cabin. On select trim levels, this includes an 8-inch color touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. These are part of the SYNC® 3 system.

Ford Ranger Trim Levels

You’ll get you choice between three different trim levels with the Ford Ranger. These are:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • LARIAT

The XL is the base-level trim that sets a strong foundation. In addition to the standard engine specs, it comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology, which includes Pre-Collision Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, and a Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist.

The other trim levels add on from there. For example, the XLT comes with even more smart safety systems, including Auto High-Beam Headlamps and BLIS® with Trailer Coverage. The LARIAT trim gives you the SYNC® 3 system with the 8-inch touchscreen and Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™.
