Ford Super Duty Lineup

2022 Ford Super Duty Review

The Ford Super Duty lineup comes with the F-250, F-350, and F-450 models. Each truck offers different abilities and configurations, so whether you’re looking for the best of both worlds with work and transportation or you’re seeking a strict heavy-duty work truck, you’ll want to get a sense of how they vary.

Ford F-250

Ford F-250

The Ford F-250 offers three engine options: two gasoline V8 engines and a Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V8. All the extra torque (1,050 lb-ft, by our count!) afforded by the turbodiesel engine drives this truck to a max conventional tow rating of 20,000 pounds. The gas V8 engines are no slouches, either.

Available solely as a Single Rear Wheel (SRW) model, the F-250 has more muscle for towing and hauling than your average light-duty truck. It comes in handy on the jobsite and offers advanced features you’ll find only on Ford trucks—like the available Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, for instance.

This towing feature lets you sync the truck and trailer when you’re backing up. Whether you have a boat or camper in tow, just turn a knob to the left or right to direct your reverse motion.

Ford F-250 Towing Capacity

Ford F-350

Ford F-350 XLT

The Ford F-350 carries over the same impressive power options as the previous Super Duty model, but its abilities get an incredible boost. With the same Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V8 available in the previous model, the F-350 can tow up to 21,200 pounds conventionally.

You have this truck in Single Rear Wheel (SRW) and Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) configurations. With the extra balance offered by the DRW model, you can max out your conventional and fifth wheel/gooseneck towing capacity. The latter tops out at 35,750 pounds, letting you move more.

The F-350 offers the latest in Ford Co-Pilot360™ driver-assistance technology. An available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage tracks your truck’s blind spots as well as the space alongside your trailer.

Ford F-350 Towing Capacity

Ford F-450

Ford F-450

The Ford F-450 is a behemoth. It comes standard with six wheels and the 6.7L Power Stroke® V6 Turbo Diesel engine that’s mated to the Upgraded Diesel Engine-Exhaust Braking and the Torqshift® 10-Speed automatic transmission with selectable drive modes. You can expect out-of-this-world towing capacities.

The F-450 can tow up to 24,200 pounds conventionally. When equipped for gooseneck towing, however, the Ford F-450 blasts past every other heavy-duty truck in the Ford lineup. It can tow up to 37,000 pounds when properly equipped. The sky’s the limit when it comes to what this truck can do.

Keep in mind that the F-450, like its fellow Super Duty models, can keep you more connected and productive with available SYNC® 3 infotainment. Put voice-activated navigation and smartphone integration right at your fingertips.

Rock on with TREMOR Off-Road Package

Did you know every Super Duty model—the F-250, F-350, and F-450—can be equipped with the best in off-road features? Add the available TREMOR Off-Road Package and transform your truck into the most capable beast on the trails.

You’ll get a new Trail Control™ system that basically acts as cruise control for the trails. It will engage the throttle and brakes to keep you moving at a constant speed, so you can focus on steering. In addition, a Rock Crawl mode is added to the Terrain Management System™.

It gets even better! The TREMOR-equipped Super Duty has 33 inches of water fording capability, letting you conquer streams just as easily as the occasional flooded roads.

Steel Frame, Meet Aluminum-Alloy Body

The Ford Super Duty is one of the most durable trucks around. It has truly earned the title of heavy-duty with its fully boxed high-strength steel frame. It’s 24 times stiffer than the previous design and is made to help this truck achieve the towing and payload ratings it is well known for.

With the F-250, F-350, or F-450, you’ll also have a high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body. It is lighter than the previous steel body and yet resists all sorts of dents and dings. You won’t have to deal with rust, either.

Tested over more than 20 million miles in the harshest conditions, the Super Duty is the perfect example of a pickup that’s Built Ford Tough®. It’s one truck you can count on for the long haul.
